The Toccoa Falls College women?s soccer team capped off an impressive 2024 campaign with a 9-5-2 record, falling just short of a regional championship after a hard-fought battle against Bob Jones University in the final. Ranked #5 in the NCCAA power rankings, the Screaming Eagles showcased their talent throughout the season, solidifying their status as a force in the South Region. Head coach John Drouse, recognized for his outstanding leadership, was named the NCCAA Division II South Region Coach of the Year.
Leading the charge this season was senior, Maddie DeSilva, who had a breakout year with 15 goals, making her the most prolific scorer in the region, and second leading scorer in the nation among NCCAA Division II teams. DeSilva?s offensive brilliance was complemented by playmakers Avah Ream and Allie Lott, who each recorded five assists on the season. Their contributions were instrumental in the team?s success.
The Screaming Eagles were well-represented in the NCCAA South Region honors. Maddie DeSilva, Colby Agnor, Allie Lott, and Erin King were all named to the First Team All-Region. Second Team All-Region accolades went to Beca Siufi, Avah Ream, Emily Scarborough, and Carien Marie Benninghaus for their consistent contributions on both ends of the field. Additionally, Jayden Taylor, Emma Grace Steers, and Nola Zook earned Honorable Mentions for their pivotal roles in the team?s performance.
With a strong core of returning players and valuable postseason experience, the future looks bright for Toccoa Falls women?s soccer. The 2024 season continued to add to an already solid foundation, and the program is poised to build on its success in the years to come.
