The Toccoa Falls College women?s basketball team is ready for an exciting new chapter with JT Jones stepping in as head coach. Jones, a standout player during his own college career, was a four-year starter, three-time team captain, and amassed over 1,800 career points. His athletic achievements earned him numerous honors from the NCCAA, along with being named Male Athlete of the Year at his college. Since graduating, Jones has built a diverse coaching and leadership background, guiding players at both the middle and high school levels, working as a general manager for a Pro Skills team in Nashville, and serving in youth ministry and education. Now, he brings his dedication and experience to TFC, aiming to inspire and uplift the women?s program.
The team returns a solid core, with six players back, including sophomore Jada Wood, who was a consistent scoring threat and averaged double figures for the Screaming Eagles last season. Junior transfer Valmary Nunez, joining from Johnson University (FL), was awarded 2nd Team All-Region in the South Region and will add valuable experience and skill. Additionally, Brooklyn Yon, a transfer from USC Salkehatchie, joins the lineup to further bolster the squad?s depth.
Adding to this talented group are four promising freshmen, including 6?0 Riley Berninger from Chattahoochee High School, whose size and skill set will be a huge asset for the Screaming Eagles. This balanced mix of returning players and newcomers sets the team up for a season full of potential, as they work to grow and develop under Jones? leadership.
With his commitment to both player development and team cohesion, Coach Jones is eager to build on the program?s strengths and continue pushing the team toward success.
